Effective January 1, 2008, John Yencha will take over the position of Chairman of the Texas Police Trust. Gary Blankinship will move to the Presidents position replacing Hans Marticiuc. Mike Hamby will replace Gary and serve along side Matt Calley and Tom Hays.

The Texas Police Trust would like to thank Hans for his years of service and dedication to the Trust and welcome Mike Hamby to the Board of Trustees.

Texas Police Trust announces changes to the term life insurance program

Effective August 1, 2007, the rates for life insurance will change to a flat .27 per thousand. In the past the rates have been age banded with younger members paying less than the members over the age 45. The new rates will be easier to administer and bring stability to the plan. The restructure will also come with a two year rate guarantee.

Additionally, Prudential is offering a one time opportunity for active members without coverage, who have not been previously declined, to get additional coverage. An enrollment package will go out the last week of July that will include a coverage overview, application, and payroll form. DonÕt miss this opportunity to get an additional $50,000 in coverage for only $13.50 per month. This coverage is available to you and you spouse. A child rider may be added for an additional $4.00 per month that covers each child for $20,000 of life insurance.

Most of us are under insured when it comes to life insurance. Take a monument to review your coverage and take advantage of this one time opportunity to get additional coverage with no medical questions and no physical exam.
